Eco-School News and Events
The Eco-Committee and children in KS2 have been very busy over the last few weeks. They have taken part in several events to make our school a more eco-friendly place.
First they weeded and cleared the outdoor flower beds before planting vegetables, flowers and herbs. We are already starting to see these grow and are very excited about using them next term.
The KS2 children also took part in the 'Big Spring Clean' event on Thursday 4th April. They collected over 10 bags of rubbish from the school grounds and along the Straw Road. We are working hard to Keep Northern Ireland beautiful.
Finally, on Tuesday 9th April the children took part in a workshop called, Habitat for Humanity. They learnt about different types of waste, how they could reduce it and ways in which they could recycle. During this workshop they also upcycled old washers to make their own key-rings!
