If you are struggling to find enough books at home for your child to read there are great free e-books available online. Your children will be familiar with the Collins Big Cat books and Collins have given parents free access to over 330 KS1 books. There are free worksheets along with the books which you can print and complete also. Below, I have outlined how to access the books and attached pictures to help. Should you require help choosing a suitable level for your child e-mail your child’s class teacher and they will be able to support you.
Collins Big Cat:
- Type ‘Collins Connect’ into google.
- Choose the teacher sign in section and enter the following:
username: parents@harpercollins.co.uk
password: Parents20!
- Choose ‘Collins Big Cat primary reading scheme’ and you should be able to access the e-books. Note that the book banding goes to the Lime level if you click ‘view more’.
- To access the accompanying worksheet click ‘Resource’ under the book.
In addition to the Collins Big Cat reading books remember that there are lots of books and worksheets on the Oxford Owl website which you can access from the Pupils Area of our school website.
