Monday 23rd March
Good morning my little film stars,
I hope you had a fantastic weekend. It was such a beautiful day yesterday and hopefully you were able to make the most of it (no further than your garden of course!).
Got a joke for you:
Why are fish so smart?
Because they live in schools
😂😂😂
Do you know who don’t live in schools? Teachers! 😁 I remember when I was younger I didn’t think twice about where teachers lived. In fact it was so obvious I didn’t even have to ask anyone to check. They live in schools! They are there when I come to the door in the morning, they have their own living room which they decided to call a ‘staff room’ and when I go home so did they. They retreated back to their classroom anticipating my return in the morning. In the mind of a 5 year old that’s confirmation! Teachers live in schools. Imagine my surprise when I saw my teacher in the supermarket for the first time. My initial thought being, ‘how dare they let her out. She should be at school waiting for me 😲’.
Today’s thought is all about myths and films. What is a myth? Do you know any myths? Ever watched a tv programme called Mythbusters? It’s very interesting and if you have access to a TV where you can search for programmes it’s worth looking up. I’m going to let you into a secret now and bust the myth above... teachers live in houses 😲 shocking I know and even further they do things that we can’t imagine them doing! Go now and watch the video attached below.
Yes I know I’m never going to win a BAFTA 😢 but there you have it, video evidence that teachers live in their own houses, can make fools of themselves and laugh along and indeed get stuck half way down a slide 🤦🏻♀️
This term I had planned to teach you how to use iMovie. We were going to film short clips and put them together with music and pictures but just because I’m not there in person to break it down for you doesn’t mean you can’t try it anyway! Why not give it a go. I used iMovie because it suits the device I was using but there are many video makers out there so ask a parent to help you download a suitable app and get going. It doesn’t have to be on anything in particular just have fun filming and editing. Once you have finished you can send it to me via email if you wish but please remember our e-safety rules. Don’t send or post videos online unless you have a parent there with you to make sure you are sending it to the correct person. Don’t post videos to social media sites and never EVER forward a video made by someone else.
I hope you enjoy this challenge and don’t forget about that all important spelling activity book! 😉
That’s a wrap folks 🎬 Chat soon
