Online safety app
You may have read the news report recently advising parents to closely monitor their child’s internet usage, especially during lockdown, as schools have been receiving messages of concern from parents. Following this, the Department of Education has launched an excellent app called Safer Schools NI which provides advice on a range of digital issues such as social media, gaming, online bullying and online challenges. The sections on social media and gaming are extremely valuable resources to parents as they explain where the dangers lie within that platform.

The app is suitable for your children to access but it is advisable that you have a look through it first as there may be sections you want to read with them.
