Shaduf building
3rd Oct 2018
As part of our topic ‘Walk like an Egyptian’ we learned about the Egyptian farming year and seasons. We learned about how the farmers were very careful to save as much water as possible during the annual floods so that they had enough to water crops during the very dry summer period. They used a shaduf to get the water from the river so that it could be stored for later use. In class, we made a shaduf using sticks, rope, blue tac and playdoh.
