Sustrans Bronze School Mark
We are delighted to have been awarded the Bronze School Mark for our involvement in the Sustrans Programme.
To gain this award, the children in school have had lots of opportunities to learn about sustainable travel and the impact this can have on our environment. They have also drawn maps from their home to school and where possible taken part in the Big Pedal event. In addition to this, we have had various assemblies and online lessons to aid our understanding of the importance of staying safe on the roads.
Children throughout the school took part in a Healthy Hearts workshop with our Sustrans Officer, Richard. We also asked Richard to hold a Dr Bike workshop to check the safety of the bikes in school.
We have some very exciting workshops organised for the next few months, for example, Puncture Repair, Cycle skill games and Playground orienteering. We will also be asking for your help and support in the near future as we work towards our Silver award. Watch this space!
