Truss bridges
7th Feb 2017
A truss bridge is created when triangular structures are added to a simple beam bridge. The triangles or trusses make the beam bridge much stronger and can span greater distances. We watched a video about the longest truss bridge in India. It is a rail road bridge which spans overnight the Ganges. We then constructed our own truss bridge using kapla. We found it very difficult to get the kapla to balance in a triangular shape and discovered that it was much easier when you added a central support.
